This week the U.S. Forest Service approved Tamarack Resort’s application for its mountain terrain expansion. This brings us one step closer to our goal of getting the final permit, which would expand resort operations to 2,099 acres of NFS lands, primarily to the south of the resort. Should we receive the final permit, this expansion would significantly increase our year-round recreation opportunities (and make for an even better backyard for those who own Tamarack Resort real estate!).
The expansion proposal by Tamarack Resort includes:
- Addition of 2,100+/- acres of mountain terrain to increase the total mountain acres to approximately 4,200 acres with 3,000 acres of skiable terrain.
- Creation of 5 new aerial lifts, including a base to summit gondola.
- Addition of 20 miles of downhill biking and mountain hiking trails covering up to 1,000 acres.
- Construction of a new summit day lodge at the top of Lone Tree Peak to serve guests year-round.
